Following the total destruction of his cabinetmaking shop and store during the burning of Columbia on February 17-18, 1865, Milo H. Berry reestablished himself as one of the city’s most successful cabinetmakers. This sign once advertised his post-Civil War business, which was located at the site of today’s Marriott Hotel on Main Street.
